The northern province of Ninh Binh saw a boom in the number of tourists during the five-day holidays of Hung Kings Commemoration Day, Reunification Day and International Workers' Day from April 29 to May 3 - the second longest national holidays only after the lunar New Year (Tet) festival.

The Tourism Department of Ninh Binh said on May 3 that during the five-day break, the province served 342,700 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 63.2%.
Of which, over 24,500 were foreigners, up 190.8% over same period last year.
The tourism sector earned around 320 billion VND (13,6 million USD) from the visitors.
Tourist attractions in the city include Trang An ecological site (17,000 arrivals), Bai Dinh pagoda (14,800 arrivals), Thung Nham ecological site (8,000 arrivals), Hoa Lu old quarter (15,500 arrivals); Tam Coc - Bich Dong (9,800 arrivals) and Cuc Phuong National Park (3,000 arrivals).
The outcomes were attributed to the efforts of the Tourism sectors, tourist destinations in preparing all necessary conditions to serve tourists safely and thoroughly.
