Implementing the provincial People’s Council’s Resolution 43/2023/NQ-HDND on providing funding for the construction of new houses or repair of old houses for the poor in the period of 2023-2025, last year, 426 local poor households received financial support to build new houses or repair their current houses with a total sum of 37.5 billion VND.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and localities in Ninh Binh jointly launched emulation movements to eradicate makeshift and dilapidated houses; and mobilised resources to support the programme. The movement has received ethusiatic response from local organisations and individuals.
To date, the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has received 3 billion VND from donors for the programme.
To realise the goal of eradicating makeshift and dilapidated houses in 2025, the provincial People’s Council has issued a new resolution to adjust and supplement its previous resolution. Under the new resolution, near-poor households, families of people who rendered service to the nation, households with extreme disadvantages will be provided with financial aid to build new homes or repair their old homes with 80 million VND for each newly-built house and 40 million VND for each repaired house.
Statistics showed that there are over 1,500 disadvantaged families in need of housing support, including over 830 families requiring new houses and 660 needing repairs. Of those, over 550 are near-poor families, 530 households with special difficult cirscumstances and nearly 410 families of people who rendered service to the nation.
With the practical and humanitarian significance of the movement, it is expected that more new houses will be built in the province, thus bringing joy and happiness to disadvantaged and poor people, thus creating momentum for them to overcome difficulties in their life.
