In a bid to minimise damage caused by natural disasters, Ninh Binh provincial people’s committee asked sectors, branches, communes, wards and related agencies to closely monitor developments and promptly implement disaster prevention and response measures.
They were instructed to maintain round-the-clock monitoring, issue timely forecasts and warnings, and ensure weather and disaster information reaches authorities and residents.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment must work to ensure the safety of dams and reservoirs, and rapidly handle incidents in main traffic axis.
Local authorities were further ordered to maintain flood control operations, safeguard dykes and reservoirs, and deploy personnel to manage traffic and ensure public safety at flooded roads, low-water crossings and landslide-prone transport routes.
Prepare forces, vehicles, equipment, and essential supplies to be ready to respond to any situation, especially in areas at risk of being cut off.
