The Ninh Binh Tourism Association and the Vietnam Tourism Association on May 17 co-organised a consulting workshop on a project on plastic waste reduction in the Vietnamese tourism.

The project is divided into three components: Communication to raise public awareness; pilot application of initiatives and solutions to reduce plastic waste in some tourist sites; building an action plan and an application on plastic waste management.
The project will be carried out in 18 months from January 2023 to June 2024.
The project is a practical and significant activity that contributes to protecting the environment for sustainable tourism development of Ninh Binh, Vietnam and the whole world.
At the workshop, participants shared their experiences, advantages and difficulties in reducing plastic waste in tourism activities.
They also put forth some solutions related to the communication work in a bid to increase effectiveness of the project.
The project is funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It will be piloted in Ninh Binh and Quang Nam provinces.
