Ninh Binh honours student for winning gold at 56th International Physics Olympiad

Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc presented the gold medalist with a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh and a commemorative gift.

The ceremony was chaired by Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Ninh Binh People's Committee.

At the ceremony, Binh awarded Ngoc a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and a cash reward of 500 million VND.

Ngoc’s mentor, Nguyen Hai Duong, a physics teacher at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted who directly taught her for the competition, received a reward of 250 million VND.

The awards were granted under the Provincial People's Council’s Resolution No. 14/2026/NQ-HDND, dated June 25, 2026, which provides incentives and rewards for outstanding achievements and talent development in education and training across Ninh Binh province.

Addressing the ceremony, Binh described Ngoc's gold medal as an exceptional accomplishment, saying it was a source of pride not only for the student and her family but also for Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, the province's education sector, and the Party organisation, administration, and people of Ninh Binh.

He also commended the Department of Education and Training and Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted for their proactive efforts and commitment to nurturing gifted students.

Expressing his confidence in Ngoc's future, the Chairman encouraged her to continue pursuing her passion for science, deepen her academic and research endeavours, master modern scientific and technological knowledge, and use her talent and determination to contribute to Vietnam's development and the community./.
