Nearly 5,000 runners join VTV LPBank International Marathon 2026.
The event attracted nearly 5,000 runners, including international participants from seven countries across the region and beyond.
The marathon contributed to promoting the image of Vietnam as a whole and Ninh Binh in particular, while encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle among the community.
The event was jointly organised by Vietnam Television (VTV), the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee and Thanh An Media JSC, with the companionship of Loc Phat Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank (LPBank). It was held to celebrate the 81st anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 2026).
Featuring three race distances of 21km, 12km and 6km, the runners followed a unique heritage route showcasing the distinctive landscapes of Van Long, including the Cut Lagoon dyke, Meo Cao Mountain, Ba Chom Mountain, and Da Han and Gong Vo villages.
The route weaved through limestone mountain ranges and wetlands, along village roads and residential areas, creating a vivid picture of the landscapes characteristic of Ninh Binh's heritage region.

The marathon not only provided a large-scale sporting event for participants but also helped the organisers showcase Ninh Binh's natural beauty, cultural identity and heritage values to a wide audience of runners, residents and visitors.
“Sport is not only a journey to push one's personal limits, but also a bridge that spreads positive values throughout the community. Holding the race in Van Long gave runners an opportunity to challenge themselves while experiencing the natural beauty and cultural richness of Ninh Binh,” said Bui Thai Ha, Vice Chairman of LPBank's Board of Directors./.
