To mark the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - 2025), a delegation from the General Department of Logistics and Technology, led by Major General Vu Van Cuong, Deputy Political Commissar of the General Department, visited and presented gifts to war invalids and sick soldiers at three nursing centres in the provinces of Ninh Binh and Hung Yen on July 15.
The delegation visited the Centre for Nursing Seriously Wounded and Sick Soldiers and Nursing People with Meritorious Services in Ha Nam (Ninh Binh Province); Duy Tien Nursing Centre for War Invalids (Ninh Binh); and the Centre for Nursing and Caring for People with Meritorious Services in Hung Yen Province.
Most of the war invalids and sick soldiers at the three centres are disabled level 1/4 (disability rate of 81% or higher), old, have poor memory, and are no longer able to take care of themselves. Many people often require treatment at higher-level hospitals due to recurrent injuries or new illnesses; their lives are difficult and require continuous and attentive care.
At the programme, the delegation presented gifts to war invalids and sick soldiers being treated and cared for at the three centres and presented gifts to each unit. The total value of the gifts is 45 million VND.
Over the years, the General Department of Logistics and Engineering has carried out many practical activities to show gratitude to those who have contributed to the cause and support the community; caring for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; renovating martyrs’ cemeteries and memorials; providing free medical examination and treatment and medicine to people in remote areas; and create jobs for children of war invalids and martyrs in units.
