A total of 67 outstanding exemplars in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's ideology and lifestyle were honoured at a ceremony held in Hanoi on November 2.
Entitled "Ho Chi Minh - Journey of Aspiration 2023", the ceremony was organised by the Party Central Committee (PCC)'s Commission for Information and Education in the presence of President Vo Van Thuong.
For the past five years, the PCC's Commission for Information and Education has annually launched an emulation movement to encourage individuals and collectives to study and follow Uncle Ho's ideology and morality. 102 outstanding role-models in the movement were honoured in the first four years, while 67 outstanding exemplars were commended in 2023 alone.
The 67 outstanding followers in 2023, who come from all regions across the country, have made great efforts in studying and working with significant contributions to the community.
Teacher Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tam from Nam Dinh Province is a good example who inspires young people to rise in life. Ngoc Tam has congenital glass bone disease, giving her the appearance of a child and weighing only 15kg. Despite her disadvantages, Tam has regularly opened free classes for elementary and junior secondary students over the past 19 years. Addressing the ceremony, Secretary of the PCC and Head of the PCC's Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia praised the outstanding role-models, noting that Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle will forever enlighten generations of Vietnamese people today and tomorrow to bring the country on par with the world powers. Studying and following his ideology and morality has become a consciousness responsibility and cultural need of the majority of Vietnamese people, Nghia noted.
