Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long on November 18 paid a field trip to inspect the progress of the projects to implement the second establishments of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital in Ninh Binh province.

According to the report of the Ministry of Health, the basic construction work of the second establishments of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital in Ninh Binh province will be completed before November 30, 2025. However, there are still some works that are difficult to complete before November 30, 2025 such as: fire prevention and fighting system, doors and operating room control panels at the project of the Bach Mai Hospital; as well as UPS system and some outdoor traffic routes at the project of the Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.

For medical equipment subject to direct procurement, the Project Management Board has completed signing procurement contracts for 82 medical equipment items of the project of the Bach Mai Hospital and 83 medical equipment items of the project of the Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. Since November 12, 2025, the contractor has imported goods and started installing a number of important medical equipment such as CT, MRI, DSA, X-ray, ultrasound, hospital beds, etc.; It is expected to basically complete the installation work before December 25, 2025.
For the medical equipment part applying the form of open bidding, the Project Management Board is organising the bidding. It is expected to complete the installation work, hand over and put into use all equipment before April 30, 2026.
According to the leaders of the Bach Mai Hospital, the unit has also recruited more than 600 doctors and nurses to work at the Ninh Binh facility.

The Viet Duc Hospital has also arranged human resources and implemented a plan to train, recruit, and rotate high-quality staff from its establishment in Hanoi, ensuring the best quality of medical examination and treatment.
Speaking at the conference, Long acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and endeavors of the units in implementing the tasks.

He directed ministries and sectors to actively coordinate with units and localities to resolve outstanding and arising issues, especially fire prevention and fighting, environmental protection, and related procedures to soon put the two establishments into operation.
Contractors need to be more determined, work overtime, and increase shifts to complete the construction and installation of equipment at the two establishments as committed, he said.
The two hospitals need to be proactive in human resources so that when they receive the handover of the projects, they can operate well, Long noted.
Regarding specific tasks, the Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Health to coordinate with ministries and branches to direct contractors to strive to complete the basic construction of the two establishments before November 30, to cut the ribbon to inaugurate the basic construction.
After December 19, 2025, the two hospitals must put a part into operation for medical examination and treatment to serve the people, he stressed.
