Within the framework of the Meet Japan 2023 conference which was held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hanoi on November 2, Chairman of the Ninh Binh provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc had a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio.
At the meeting, Ngoc thanked the Ambassador for his attention to and support for boosting cooperative relations between Ninh Binh and Japanese partners in the past years.
He expressed his wish to step up cooperation with Japan in the fields of history and culture research and heritage preservation.
The cooperation will focus on studying archaeological excavation and preserving archeological sites by sharing experience and supporting the application of modern technologies in conserving, recovering and showcasing of ancient documents and artifacts.
In the coming time, Ninh Binh would implement a project to restore part of Hoa Lu ancient citadel so that the province needs assistance from Japan, Ngoc added.
Besides, the province also hoped that Japan would step up investment in the field of clean, hi-tech and environmental-friendly industries.
A delegation of Ninh Binh will make a working trip to Japan next year, so the province hoped the Ambassador would serve as a bridge and help the delegation to complete their set plans and targets, Ngoc said.
Ninh Binh would work to boost development programmes and cooperation between the two sides, Ngoc committed.
For his part, Takio spoke highly of Ninh Binh's efforts in cooperating and organising promotion programmes with foreign partners, including Japan.
Ninh Binh boasts numerous potential to attract Japanese investors, however, the number of Japanese investors in Ninh Binh remained modest, so the provincial authorities should continue to organize dialogues, communication activities and promotion programmes to create favourable conditions for Japanese investors to explore investment opportunities and do business in the province.
The Ambassador also pledged to support, connect and provide information about Ninh Binh and its development orientations for Japanese partners and investors.
