Chairman of the Ninh Binh provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc on November 9 inspected the progress of projects to build irrigation works in the southern part of Van river and Cha La bridge.

Investors reported the progress of construction and land site clearance of the projects.
As for the project on building irrigation works in the southern part of Van river, 1,150 out of 2,000 meters of land have been cleared, accounting for 58%. The contractor is building a road and dredging the river bed.
The investor also mentioned some difficulties and hindrances in site clearing at some locations and suggested the provincial People's Committee, departments, sectors and agencies direct the People's Committees of Ninh Binh city and Yen Khanh district to accelerate site clearance to soon hand over the ground to the investor.
The irrigation project in the southern part of the Van river has total capital investment of over 600 billion VND, and is invested by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The project aims to irrigate and supply water for the southern part of Ninh Binh city, Khanh Phu industrial zone and nearby areas and improve the water condition of Van river.
For the project on building Cha La bridge, the whole reclaimed area in Thanh Binh ward has been handed over to the investor. While other areas are in the process of compensation and relocation.
Work started on November 9, 2023. The ccontractor is building a road serving the construction, gathering machines and equipment, building fences, and setting up sign boards.
The investor also mentioned some difficulties and hindrances and solutions to clearing the site.
The project has total investment capital of 133.57 billion VND, and is invested by the Provincial Management Board of Transport Building and Investment Projects. It aims to serve travel demand of local people, and to create a highlight in terms of architecture for Ninh Binh city.
After hearing reports and inspection, Ngoc spoke highly of the active participation of the investors and the People's Committee of Ninh Binh city in implementing these projects.
Ngoc asked the investors and Ninh Binh city to keep a close watch so as to give recommendations and suitable adjustments.
Construction units must ensure labour safety, environmental sanitation and the aesthetic value of the works as well as the quality of these projects, he said.
He also requested Ninh Binh city to work closely with functional agencies to apply policies for those being affected by the projects, thus ensuring benefits for local people.
