Bach Mai Hospital’s second establishment in Ninh Binh to open in late June

Following the completion of its human resources preparations, Bach Mai Hospital’s second establishment in Ninh Binh is expected to officially open and begin operations on June 26, 2026.
The Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee on June 12 held a working session with Bach Mai Hospital regarding plans to put the second establishment and Bach Mai Medical College in Ninh Binh into operation during the 2026 2027 period.
At the meeting, the hospital’s leaders stated that the second establishment, located in Liem Tuyen ward, has received an investment of more than 1.1 trillion VND for the procurement of essential medical equipment for its initial phase, including ultrasound systems, MRI scanners, and CT scanners.
Once operations are stabilised, the hospital will continue its development as a smart hospital, synchronizing data with the main establishmentand investing in some of the world's most advanced medical technologies, such as hybrid operating rooms, robotic surgery systems, and proton computed tomography scanners.
According to the plan, when fully operational, Bach Mai Hospital’s second establishment will employ 1,288 staff members and provide 11,147 medical procedures and techniques across 36 specialties. The facility is being developed in parallel with the main campus to ensure the same level of expertise and quality expected of a top-tier, highly specialized general hospital. Medical personnel will rotate between the two establishments, while additional resident physicians and nursing staff will be trained to meet growing professional demands.
The hospital is scheduled to officially open and commence operations on June 26, 2026. To mark the occasion, it will organise free health check-ups for policy beneficiary families and individuals with meritorious service to the nation. It will also offer training courses on cardiac arrest emergency response, patient care, and quality management for healthcare professionals from Ninh Binh and neighboring provinces, while conducting direct specialist consultations.
Alongside the hospital project, Phase I of Bach Mai Medical College is also being developed in Ninh Binh with a total investment of approximately 1 trillion VND. Construction began in December 2025 and is expected to be completed and operational by September 2027.The institution is envisioned as a high-quality medical education center for northern Vietnam, with a projected enrollment of 5,000 6,000 students by 2030, integrating academic training with clinical practice at Bach Mai Hospital.
At the meeting, Bach Mai Hospital proposed Ninh Binh province continue accelerating the construction of residential housing for hospital staff, support transport services for healthcare workers traveling from Phu Ly Railway Station to the second establishment, ensure adequate transport infrastructure, public security, and fire safety measures, and expedite the project's final acceptance procedures.
Ninh Binh's people's committee and Bach Mai Hospital sign cooperation deals on number of areas.
Ninh Binh’s Department of Health proposed strengthening cooperation with Bach Mai Hospital in areas such as technology transfer, teleconsultation, digital transformation, implementation of electronic medical records, scientific research, and the development of modern hospital management models.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, Ha Lan Anh stated that the province would direct relevant departments and agencies to work closely with Bach Mai Hospital to complete all necessary conditions, ensuring that the second establishment operates effectively and meets the healthcare needs of residents in Ninh Binh and surrounding provinces./.
