The 20th Volleyball Championship Hoa Lu - Binh Dien Cup 2026 officially opened in the evening of March 18 at the Ninh Binh Gymnasium.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong and Standing Vice Chairman of provincial people’s committee Tran Song Tung presented flowers and pennant flags to participating teams.
The event was jointly held by Department of Culture and Vietnam Federation of Volleyball.
Attending the opening ceremony were Tran Huy Tuan, member of Central Party committee, Secretary of the provincial party committee; Tran Dang Quynh, alternative member of Central Party committee, Deputy Secretary of the provincial party committee; Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Tran Song Tung, Standing Vice Chairman of provincial people’s committee, among others.

The six- day competition features the participation of six men teams and six womens teams.
Six men teams includes LPBank Ninh Binh, Border guard-MB, The Cong Tan Cang, Ho Chi Minh city public security force, Ha Noi club and Ho Chi Minh city; while six women teams are LPBank Ninh Binh, VTV Binh Dien Long An, Vietinbank, Ha Noi Tasco Auto, High Command of Information -Corp 19 and Long Son Thanh Hoa cement.

In his opening speech, Vice Director of the provincial Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Manh Cuong said the tournament saw the participation of outstanding players from domestic clubs and foreign nations.
The tournament offers a chance for the participating teams and players to improve their skills ahead of the first round of the National Volleyball Championship 2026.
Following the opening ceremony, LPBank Ninh Binh played against Long Son Thanh Hoa Cement in the first match of the women’s group.
