Trang An Festival 2019 highlights theme “Quintessence converges in the rock kingdom of Hoa Lu”

Various traditional rituals and folk art performances were held at the Trang An Festival 2019 in the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex on April 21.

During the two-day festival, numerous rituals imbued with cultural identities of the ancient city of Hoa Lu were held, including boat and palanquin processions and a dragon dance on the river.

Attending the festival, delegates and visitors were enjoyed ritual singing performed by artists from provinces nationwide, including Bac Ninh, Hoa Binh, Bac Kan…

The annual festival is held on the 18th day of the third lunar month to commemorate national hero, Saint Quy Minh Dai Vuong — a general under the reign of the 18th Hung King who made great contributions to establishing and protecting the country.

This year’s event marks 5 years since the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site.
