The Ninh Binh provincial People's Committee has sent a document to related departments asking them to prepare for the building of a section of Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway.
Once completed, the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway's section running through Ninh Binh province will help ease traffic flows on Cao Bo - Mai Son expressway.
Accordingly, the provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Transport to work with related units to prepare for the construction of the expressway.

The project has a total length of 25.3 kilometers with four lanes and a designed speed of 120 kilometers per hour.
It has total investment capital of 7.86 trillion VND (338 million USD). Of which, 2 trillion VND (86 million USD) comes from the province's budget while the rest will be sourced from the central budget.
According to the Road Network Development Planning Project for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway (CT.08) has a total length of around 109 kilometers. It starts at the eastern North-South expressway in Ninh Binh city and ends at Ha Noi - Hai Phong expressway.
The expressway is designed with four lanes and scheduled to be completed before 2030.
